In memory of my grandfather - by Pat Teale
We were never told that he was a returned serviceman. Until later in his life he never talked about his war service.
The story is that he joined as his younger brother was missing & wanted to find him.
David Walter Irvine reg/no 6055 missing 14 July 1917 Prisoner of war Germany. David was repatriated back Australia to Woodville Red Cross Home Randwick died (TB) on 20 Aug 1920 with his brother Roy James by his side
