Wounded in action, 3 January 1918 (crushed/fractured right foot) when he sideslipped his SE5 into the ground whilst practicing with 68 Suadron Australian Flying Corps; transferred to England, 25 January 1918, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth; discharged to duty, 17 March 1918.
Married Gladys K.A. STRAND, spinster, aged 27, Anglican Church, Gloucester, 18 October 1919.
Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Ypiringa', 15 November 1919; disembarked sydney, 4 January 1920; appointment terminated (discharged), Sydney, 1 March 1920.
Went to Missina and was with German expeditions into Highlands pre-WWI.
Returned to New Guinea in 1920 (Rabaul) as works manager for the Expropriation Board from 1921-1926.
Managing Director Loo Company from 1929.
