Percy James Barclay was born on the 28th March 1890 in Maylands South Australia. His parents were John Young Barclay and Jesse Ellen nee Fickling.
Percy's occupation was a farmer in his hometown Corny Point on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. He joined the army on September 28 1916. At this point he was only 26 and a half years old. He was 5 feet and 7-1/4 inches tall and he had brown hair and hazel eyes. He weighed 156 lbs.
Percy was killed in battle in France on the 24th of April 1918. His next of kin was his mother Jesse Ellen Barclay who continued to live in Corny Point. The cemetery his is buried in is Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, France.
