Military Medal
Everard Powderly was awarded the military medal after his actions in WW1 in a battle on the Western Front. Everard Powderly single handily moves 48 wagons of weapons over 24 hours through German shelling and gas to re supply the guns for an allied victory. He was asked to do this almost impossible task after multiple officers couldn’t find a way to supply the almost empty guns. He moved two wagons at a time and used patience and intellect to identify the German shell pattern and make it through without a scratch. Everard lives to be 91 and was cranky that he missed an Anzac Day around his 91st birthday because of a stint of gout in the knee.
