Albert James Charles SHOTBOLT was born in London on 1st April, 1889
His parents were James Samuel SHOTBOLT & Frances Ann SMART who married in St James the Great in Bethnal Green on 29th April, 1888
He married Ruby Charlotte HIGGINBOTHAM in Victoria in 1920
He enlisted in Rosebery Park, NSW on 17th September, 1914 and returned to Australia and re-embarked in 1916 - he was discharged on 2nd August, 1919 - he was with the4th Infantry Brigade Train and the 1st Australian Army Service Company
He enlisted again for WW2 on 24th August, 1941 in Sydney and was discharged on 24th September, 1942 & was a Private with the 13 Garrison Battalion
Albert died in Sydney on 21st November, 1974 - burial place unknown
