Trooper P.J Nash, of Melbourne of the 4th Machine Gun Squadron was shockingly mutilated at Perth Central railway station on the night of the 20th instant. As he was about to rejoin his transport a Fremantle he fell off the train platform. Porter Pratt risked his life by jumping upon the buffers between the carriages and disconnecting the vacuum brake, thereby pulling up the train. Nash, however, was dead when extracted.
