"LATE PRIVATE E. R. ALLEN.
Private Eustace R. (Tom) Allen, who was killed in action in France on October 6, was a son of the late Mr. George Allen and Mrs. E. Allen, of 160 Halifax Street, Adelaide. He left Australia with the 22nd reinforcements of the 10th Battalion on November 7, 1916, and reached France early this year. He was 33 years old, and was for several years on the railway staff at Wallaroo, where at the time of enlisting he was relieving stationmaster. His genial disposition and kind heartedness made him a great favorite. He was a member of the Princess Royal Masonic Lodge, a past arch Druid of the Federal lodge, U.A.O.D., and a foundation member of the Wallaroo branch of the Buffalo lodge. "A MEMORIAL PHOTO
On Friday last, at the Wallaroo goods office, an enlarged photo of the late Corporal E. R. Allen, was unveiled by the Traffic Superintendent (Mr. P. B. O'Malley, who spoke in terms of appreciation of the late soldier. Foreman T. French and Mr. W. McNeice endorsed the remarks. The late Corporal Allen was for some years prior to his enlistment stationed at Wallaroo, and filled the position of acting-stationmaster for some time.
