Military Medal
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty east of YPRES. On the 13th October, 1917, this N.C.O. was in charge of ammunition for his Battery in the HANNEBEEK Valley. When in the vicinity of BELLEWARDE Ridge he was wounded by shell fire but - though suffering great pain - he remained on duty and delivered the ammunition under his charge to his Battery. Throughout his service this N.C.O. has set a fine example of devotion to duty.'
