Son of John Haw and Mary Ann Elizabeth Haw nee James of Mologa, Victoria. Brother of John Knowlson Haw who returned to Australia on 18 July 1919 having served with the 37th Battalion, Sarah Lily Flowers Haw, Hannah Knowlson Haw, Ethel Jane  Haw, Irene Olive Haw and  Walter William Haw

Commenced return to Australia on 28 March 1919 aboard HT City of Poona disembarking on 14 May 1919
