15 Feb 1919: Honoured Military Cross and bar, "The Last Hundred Days", For most conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty on 31 August 1918 near Clery-sur-Somme in establishing an observation post and then rushing an enemy machine gun and crew of 18, putting it out of action. When returning with the gun he was badly wounded by an enemy shell.
