William James Trickett (6943) was born in Brisbane, Qld.
At enlistment he was 18 years old, single, worked as a clerk and had served with the Senior Cadets and Militia.
William embarked on HMAT A67 Orsova with the Signal Troop 2, Reinforcement 15, on 11th March 1916.
He disembarked in Egypt and joined the AMD Sigs on 26th April 1916. William saw service in Egypt and the Middle East as a signaller. On 27th February 1917, he was transferred to the 1st Signal Troop Anzac Wireless Signal Squadron. He returned to Australia in July 1919 and was discharged on 24th October 1919.
In 1925 William married Doris Boardman in Ballina, N.S.W., and the couple raised 2 children.
William died in Sydney, N.S.W., in 1979.
William is commemorated for his service on the Wesley Mission Roll of Honour, Wollongong, N.S.W.
