Son of Andrew Christian and Catherine Agnes ANDERSON of Rose Street, Ballina, NSW
Prior to enlistment he was in the service of the Bank of NSW - Casino and Guyra Branches
After serving in Gallipoli and France he was promoted to Captain on 12th February 1917 and was subsequently transferred to a permanent commission with the 76th Punjabis, Indian Army; awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous work whilst fighting in Waziristan, North West Frontier, India.
