Harry Bramley was the eldest son of William Henry and Agnes Bramley of Rodney Street, Bendigo. William and Agnes farmed at Mincha for 40 years before moving to Bendigo in April 1916.

Before he enlisted Harry was 'following farming pursuits' at Mincha. While in France he saw a horse attached to a gun carriage in the Australian artilery, which he had bred and sold soon after the war started. Harry was killed in action on 26 April 1918, aged 38.

Harry's younger brother Charles was also killed in the war. His sister Ada was a nurse at the Bendigo Hospital.
