Son of George Stephen Vidler and Eliza Jane Vidler nee Harris of Corndale, NSW.
Brother of Clement Vidler who returned to Australia on 19 February 1919 having served in the 3rd Machine Gun Battalion
On 12 July 1919 Cecil married Lucy May Grace in St. George's Church, West Harnham, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. Vicar Geoffrey Hill officiated.
