During an intense bombardment by the enemy on the front line defences they [Robert Adam; William Bell; David Walker; Harry Vincent showed great resource and courage and immediately the bombardment was lifted off the parapet, occupied the debris and by fire prevented a raiding party from destroying important underground works in the line. Next of kin at time of enlistment was given as E. Heath of Ford Street, Barton Hill, Bristol, England. Later changed to his wife Florence Vincent formerly Heaven nee Cain of Mary Street, Blacksall Heath, Birmingham, England. Harry and Florence married on 5 August 1917 in St. Johns Church, Sparkhill, Worcester, England. Curate F.H. R. Perkins officiated.
