"...1717 Lance Corporal Edward Bathurst Beavis, 4th Battalion, of Bathurst, NSW, wearing a uniform with corporal's stripes. A photographer prior to enlistment, L Cpl Beavis embarked with the 4th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Shropshire on 17 March 1915. On 6 August 1915 he was killed in action at Lone Pine, Gallipoli, aged 22..." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
