Bert(ie) Wilson was the fifth child and second son of James (Jim) and Ellen (Nell) (HATTAM) WILSON of Mount Crawford Road, Williamstown. Before he left for overseas, he was presented with a wristlet watch and belt at the Williamstown Institute.
He died from multiple wounds at the Casualty Clearing Station, Remy, Belgium, 30 September, 1916.
His younger brother Clarence Crawford WILSON also served in World War 1 and later in World War 2.
