Son of John ANGUS and Elizabeth nee WADE
F. N. Angus, probably 1031 Private (Pte) Frank Angus, 43rd Battalion who was a 31 year old farmer from Mindarie, South Australia when he enlisted on 28 February 1916. He embarked for overseas with A Company from Adelaide on 9 June 1916 aboard HMAT Afric and was wounded in action in France on 31 July 1917. After recovering from his wounds in England, he returned to France where he was awarded a Military Medal for his courage and resourcefulness in dealing with a difficult situation at Hamel on 4 July 1918. Pte Angus was again wounded in action on 29 September 1918, evacuated to England and then returned to Australia, arriving on 18 February 1919.
