The Scotch College School Register noted that Leslie was a ‘Bright lad’. He was also a good athlete, who played for the First football XVIII in 1909 and 1910, apparently as full back. He was working in his father’s cordial firm at the outbreak of war.
A tribute to him is recorded on the Scotch College WW1 Honours and Awards website - a link can be found to the left of this entry (Scotch College (Melbourne) WW1 Honours & Awards profile).
