Son of George Quigley and Harriet Ritchie formerly  Quigley nee Boyd of Elizabeth Street, Gympie, QLD.

Brother of Albert George Quigley who returned to Australia on 28 October 1916 having served with the 25th Battalion; Roy Ernest Quigley who returned to Australia on 1 June 1918 having served with the 49th Battalion.

Husband of Lilian Beatrice Quigley nee Brinton of Queens Parade, Bristol, England. Leslie and Lilian were married on 25 October 1917 in the Registry Office. Francis S. Bealey the Registrar officiated.

Commenced return to Australia with his wife on 12 July 1919  SS Indarra disembarking on 9 September 1919
