The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 72, 79, 107 + 267. Prior to the war he was a cellarman of St Kilda Vic. He enlisted 15th Aug 1914 aged 19 years. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion, and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. He was awarded the Military Medal 3 times, (the MM plus 2 bars). He survived the war, departing the UK for home 28th Aug 1919.
