Harry James Whittick, Born, 17th of May 1920 in Adelaide, SA. His father's name was Mr Henry George Whittick. Harry was married to Leonora and they lived at Windsor in Victoria.

Mr. Whittick before enlisting in the war, had been a clerk with the South Australian Railways for 4 years. He enlisted in Laverton, Victoria on the 16th of January, 1940 and then underwent RAAF training school before graduating and earning his flying badge on the on the 30th of July continuing to his first deployment with the No. 460 Squadron (RAF) as a pilot officer. He then was later deployed 3 more times as a pilot officer being honoured with a Distinguished Flying Cross. 

Harry was discharged on 26th of September 1945 with his last unit being RAF station (Tempsford). He flew a Leicester Aircraft with 725 hours flown and 179 of those in the last month of his involvement in the war.

Mr Whittick, sadly passed away on the 6.10.2012 aged 92. He is commemorated on the Adelaide South Australian Railways WW1 &WW2 Honour Board.
