Ron served in the Australian Army for 6 years. Deployed to Malaysia in 1964 - 1966 serving with both 3RAR and 4RAR.
Ron was then deployed to Vietnam 2RAR in 1967-68 sailing on the HMAS Sydney to Vung Tau. Vehicle transport to Nui Dat where he served in the motar platoon.
On Discharge Ron settled in Adelaide with his wife and family and worked as a house painter.
