    3 Jul 1919: Honoured Military Medal, For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack in the St Souplet sector on 17 October 1918. During the very heavy hostile Artillery fire he maintained his gun in action and rendered very valuable assistance. The cool manner and determination in which he carried out his work and utter disregard for his own personal danger he set a fine example and inspired his gun detachment with great confidence London Gazette on 3 July 1919, page 8358, position 6.
