Gordon deployed to South Vietnam aboard the last Qantas flight carrying the Battalion, on 10 May 1966, this flight carried 114 members of A Company, B Company, Admin Company and Anti-tank Platoon. He returned to Australia with the Battalion aboard HMAS Sydney on 12 May 1967. He continued to serve in the Army and retired with the rank of WO2. - Courtesy Gary Townsend
