My name is Karl Hampton and I live in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. I am trying to locate my Uncle Reginald Desmond Hampton.
Please read his personal details and service record which I have updated.
He mostly lived around the Townsville and Ingham region of North Queensland during the 1940's and 1950's. He last disembarked in Sydney after the Korean War on the 26th of March 1952.

Reginald Desmond Hampton was born in Roper River the Northern Territory on 7th February 1924 to Tim and Sarah Hampton who all were of Aboriginal decent (Mara/Yanuywa and Ngulikan language groups).
Reginald was the oldest of 11 boys and 1 girl.
He first enlisted with the Australian Army on the 5th May 1943 at Hatches Creek (small mining town between Tennant Creek and Alice Springs) in the Northern Territory where his parents worked as miners and produce farmers.
He then enlisted formally in Field Queensland.
Reginald enlisted with the Australian Army twice,
firstly from the 5th May 1943 to 4th July 1946 and this service with the 26th Australian Infrantry (AIF) included overseas duties in New Guinea (17.7.43 - 31.7.44), Bouganville (27.2.45 - 2.5.46) and Thursday Island (25.5.43 - 17.7.43).
Secondly from 21st August 1950 to 4th July 1952 and during this service with the Royal Australian Infrantry Corps in the 3rd Battalion RAR. He served overseas in Japan/Korea in the Special Forces from 17th October 1950 to 26th March 1952.
Reginald moved around parts of Nth Queensland including Ingham and Townsville but never returned to the Northern Territory.
His family in the NT have been trying to locate him (and any descendants) since his father's passing in November 1964 but to date have had no luck.
