REV. D. P. MACDONALD.
Ministry at Mosman.

A ministry of 19 years In the Mosman Presbyterian Church and over 1600 sermons preached from its pulpit were referred to with appreciation by various speakers at a meeting of the congregation held last night to offer congratulations to the Rev D P Macdonald on the work he had done in the parish.

The Deputy Premier (Mr Bruxner) said anyone in public life could understand and appreciate the work done in the community by men like Mr Macdonald. He had brought before them the practical side of Christian living. ' I say that many of the things we deal with as a Government are really functions of the Church ' Mr Bruxner said ."In days gone by a great deal of social services and hospital management were a part of the practical side of the Church's life. Many people are only too willing to hand this over to the Government when they might do the work much better through their Churches ". He went on to say that ministers of the Church and Ministers of the Crown expected from the whole community understanding, sympathy and help in the work they were doing.

The chairman (Mr H H Newell), Professor Kenneth Edward, Rev James Wright, and Messrs G Alexander and J Stevenson also spoke and Mr Macdonald was presented with a parcel of books. Mrs Macdonald received a beautiful bouquet.
