Son of Samuel Thomas Barron and Margaret Ann Jean Barron, of Parkside, South Australia.
Stoker William George Barron, 21, only son of Mr. and Mrs. S.T. Barron of Young Street Parkside, served in several ships, in one of which he took part in the evacuation of Crete, when his ship's engines were damaged. He was educated at Hindmarsh and Brompton Schools, and worked for the Adelaide Rope & Nail Co. Ltd. He joined the navy when 18.
