Edited version of entry for Lyn Dohnt in the Australian Women's Register
Lynley (Lyn) Dohnt was born at Gumeracha, South Australia. In January 1941, Lyn was called up for service with the Air Force being one of the first of the South Australian Sisters to join the RAAFNS.
Lyn served in Austraia and overseas and was appointed Matron on 1 March 1944. She was discharged from the Royal Australian Air Force Nursing Service in 1946.
After a short time as assistant to the almoner at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Lyn Dohnt became the House Sister, an appointment which she retained until her retirement in 1958.
Lyn Dohnt died in 1991.
