MISSING
Flying-Officer C. W. Walker, Test and State cricketer, has been reported missing as the result of air operations on the night of December 17-18. The advice has been received by his father, Mr. E. Walker, of Coglin street, Brompton. Walker went overseas 12 months ago as an air-gunner, and according to private advices, had been engaged in air operations over Europe since July. He gained a place in the State Sheffield Shield team for the first time in the 1928-9 season, and toured England with Australian teams as second wicketkeeper in 1930 and 1938.
A brother, Private George Walker, of the A.I.F., was reported earlier in the year to be missing in Malaya.
