Flight Lieutenant John Edward MacLeod 416591 of 76SQN RAAF was hit by AA fire in Kittyhawk A29-303 during an attack on enemy watercraft and he ditched near Ogar Island in Seckar Bay, New Guinea on the 5th of December 1944
He became a Prisoner of War and was subsequently executed by Japanese personnel at Kokas Island, Netherlands East Indies on the 19th of December 1944

Son of Alexander Norman and Mary Ellen Macleod; husband of Lesley Catherine Macleod, of Potts Point, New South Wales, Australia. Royal Humane Society Medal.
