PO Stanley J. James, previously reported missing, who is now presumed to have lost his life, was the younger son of Mr. C. H. James of Findon avenue, Seaton Park (formerly of Cheltenham and the late Mrs. James. B was educated a the Pennington school and Woodville high school, and was a member of the Australasian Institute of Secretaries and of the Association of Accountants of Australia. While employed by Guinea Airways in Lae, New Guinea, in 1939, he served as a member of the Volunteer Corps. Subsequently he came to Adelaide, and was with Messrs. Pavy & Harry, solicitors until he enlisted with the RAAF in 1941. He went overseas in 1942
