Son of Mr and Mrs Herbert Leonard HIGHMAN of 32 Winton Street, Broadview, SA. Married with one daughter and aged 23 when he enlisted in WW2, Reginald was educated at Renmark and Victor Harbor High School. At school he gained his Q.C. and credit for Physics in his Intermediate. He enjoyed playing football and tennis. In civilian life he was employed by the Waterworks Department at Kent Town. He enlisted in May 1940 and gained his wings in October 1941. He was later posted to No 70 Reserve Squadron for general reconnaissance work. His younger brother Brian is in the 69th Squad Air Training Corps.
