Mrs. J. B. Gunson, of Palmer Place, North Adelaide, has been advised that P.O. Alan W. M. Gunson, second son of Mrs. and the late Dr. J. B. Gunson, has been posted missing as a result of air operations on September 21. P.O. Gunson was a member of the crew of a Sunderland aircraft on anti submarine patrol, and when last heard of the aircraft was being attacked by six enemy planes
His brother, Flying Officer Henry Arthur Morphett Gunson 416955 also served in the RAAF - survived the war - flew with 463 Squadron RAAF
Their cousins also served in the RAAF - Flight Lieutenant Norman Peter Coles Gunson DFC 407424 (flew with 22SQN RAAF - survived the war) & Flying Officer Paul Coles Gunson 407436 (KIA in 13SQN RAAF Lockheed Hudson A16-243)
