FAMILY HISTORIES
COURTIS, Frank A. (1914-89) grew up in Croydon Park and was a fitter with South Australian Railways before enlisting with the RAAF, through which he worked in Washington, Canada, Brisbane and the Pacific. Frank was a journalist with The Advertiser in Adelaide, The Age in Melbourne and the Sydney Morning Herald. A bit of a character, Frank was also involved with puppetry, campaigning for a federal MP seat, fundraising for water conservation, poetry writing and more.
