Colin Alexander Byrne - 417334  Navigator
Was born on 10 June 1919 in Curramulka, SA, he enlisted in the RAAF on 25 April 1942 in Adelaide, SA. He commenced training with No 12 Beaufighter Course in October 1943 and completed the course on 18 December 1943. He was a Pilot Officer and navigator, he arrived at 30 Squadron on 9 January 1944 and flew 36 sorties up to 22 of those with pilot Wing Commander P L B Gibson (killed in accident at Tadji in A19-115 on 11 June 1944) the pilot details for his remaining sorties are not recorded. He left 30 Squadron on 3 October 1944, and was discharged from the RAAF on 6 September 1945 with the rank of Flight Lieutenant whilst serving at 2 Air Observer School
