Son of Alfred Guy and Mary Petch, of Meribah, South Australia.
Missing in Operations
Mr. and Mrs, Guy Petch, of Meribah, have been advised that their son, Sgt David W. Petch, is reported missing in air operalions in a northern area. Sgt. Petch, who was 19 years of age, received his early education at the Meribah School and later at Urrbrae Agricultural School. Immediately upon reaching the age of 18; he enlisted in the RAAF from the ATC. After his preliminary training in South Australia, he finished his course in another State, and qualified as a sergeant wireless air-gunner. Dave, who was an only son, was well known and popular in the Meribah district.
Flying Officer R. V. Day, of Norton Summit. and Sergeant D. W. Petch, of Meribah, who were previously reported missing, are now presumed dead. according to au R.A.A.F. casualty list released today.
