L.A.C. D. N. MCDONALD KILLED IN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. McDonald, of the Commonwealth Bank, Port Augusta were advised early on Friday morning last that their only son, L.A.C. Donald Neill McDonald, of the R.A.A.F., was killed when an aircraft crashed at a South Australian Air Force station during a training flight on Thursday, September 23.
F.O. Ian Duncan Weston, of Karoonda, S.A., Sgt. Julian Patrick Rice of Manjimup, W.A. and LA.C. Cyril Lewis, of Elwood, Vic., were also killed.
L.A.C. McDonald, who was 19 years of age, was on the staff of the Commonwealth Bank at Port Adelaide when he entered the Air Force from the A.T.C. immediately after his 18th birthday. He was nearing the final stages of his training, and under ordinary circumstances, would have gained his "wings" this month.
His only sister is in the W.A.A.A.F. Deepest sympathy is extended to Mr and Mrs McDonald and family in their sad loss.
