Son of Emily Elizabeth MOBBS of Mile End (formerly of Murray Bridge)
Married with three children and residing at 4 Harris Street, Norwood, SA.
Owen was educated at Murray Bridge and followed all sport, but was particularly interested in swimming. In civilian life he was a boot repairer with C.J. Young Shoe Company for 16 years and enlisted in April 1942. He trained at Shepparton and Mallala. His brother Herbert Mobbs was killed in action in the Great War.
