Thomas was reported missing on 02 Apr 1917. His brother Samuel wrote to the Red Cross Information Bureau on 28 Jun 1917 seeking information about his whereabouts. Advice was received on 28 Jun 1917 that he was a POW at Limburg, Germany and had been since 02 Jun 1917.
Then on 16 Sep 1918 he was transferred to Friedrichsfeld, but was finally repatriated on 25 Dec 1918 to England.
