Sapper Keith Dodd Raymond (Service No:S57519) enlisted in the ACMF on 31 October 1941 as a Private with 3rd Training Battalion and transferred to 4th Garrison Battalion on 26 May 1942. Private Raymond embarked with 10/48th Infantry Battalion from Brisbane for Torokina via Bougainville on 5 October 1944 on board the Wilfred Grenfell, and then on to Aitape. He embarked from Aitape for Brisbane on 9 April 1945 on board the Taroona and was a Sapper attached to 11 Australian Troops Coy at Discharge on 11 July 1946.

Born in 1921 at Jerusalem in Kadina South Australia, Keith was the eldest of ten children of Foster Dodd Raymond (b1902 in Jerusalem, Kadina, South Australia) and Edith Rose Schultz (b1905 in Brinkworth, South Australia). Foster (a Labourer) and Edith married in 1921 in Jerusalem, Kadina where they settled and raised their family and Foster was a Labourer.

Keith worked as a Wheat Lumper in Kadina before enlisting in the ACMF. He was in Mackay, QLD in 1946 when he married Annie (Marj) Shaw Miller Hastings (b1915 in Edinburgh, Scotland) - Annie immigrated with her parents and siblings in 1927, arriving in Mackay, QLD on board the SS Orvieto and settling in Mackay, QLD. Keith and Annie settled in Kadina, South Australia where they raised their family. Keith died in 1991 and Annie in 1995.
