Son of Margaret and the late W WILSON of 15 Little Archer Street, North Adelaide, SA. Educated at North Adelaide and Nailsworth Schools, Robert followed sport and played soccer for a North Adelaide Club for several seasons. He was also fond of swimming. Robert was called into the Militia for three years, and completed training in March 1941 and was then called up for the duration in May 1941. He had attended a trade school for 2 1/2 years, went to Kelvinator Limited and then to Myers as an electrician.
