Son of the late Mr and Mrs R DIXON of Port Pirie. John was married with 8 children and resided at 19 Colby Place, Adelaide. Educated at Chelshire England, he joined the R.N.R. at an early age and served eight years to outbreak of the Great War and then saw serivce in various parts of the world and was a member of the crew of 'Prince George' at Gallipoli. He served in Submarine E14 and completed his term of service in February 1919. He then worked in England for some time and migrated to Australia in 1925. At the time of enlistment in WW2 he was employed at Holdens. Two sons J.F.R. and A.J. Dixon are serving oversease with the AIF.
