14 Mar 1919: Honoured Military Medal, South of STRAZEELE, on the morning of the 11th July, 1918, a party was sent out to capture enemy posts in front of our line. Pte ROSTRON was one of the party. Approaching a point offering resistance, he was attacked by two of the enemy, one on either side of him. But he was not to be deterred, though caught at a disadvantage. He immediately fired on one and killed him; then, turning quickly, he fired on and wounded the other, taking him prisoner, together with two other of the enemy concealed in a dugout. By his daring in overcoming this point of resistance, he greatly assisted the capture of the remaining posts and their garrisons.
