"Court of Inquiry held on 11 Apr 1944 found that:-
SX26112 Gnr. Bowen E. W. died as a result of injuries sustained at approx. 1530 hrs on 04 Apr 1944 when a White Scout Car No. 135048, on charge to 13 Aust. Fld. Regt. AIF, and in which he was a passenger, struck a deeply rutted patch and overturned while travelling along a black soil track near Oakey... Gnr. Bowen E.
