CRAWFORD, August Neil (!922-?)
This record bears further research. As at 27 Sep 23, his NAA Service record is not yet available without payment of a fee. It should be digitised in due course.
August Neil Crawford would have been called up for mobilisation as an 'Eligible Male' following the Japanese acttack on Peral Harbour and Australia's declaration of war on Japan.
He was enlisted into the Militia (details not available) most probably in late December 1941. He was assigned to Loveday Internment // PW Camp where he subsequently transferred to the 2nd AIF. It appears that he remianed at the Loveday PW Camp for the duration of the War, designated 25/33 Battalion of the Volunteer Defence Corps although he would have been on Full Time Duty.
