Son of Mrs J.A. DODDRIDGE of 326 Goodwood Road, Clarence Park.  Educated at Colonel Light Gardens and the Adelaide High Schools, he was dux in 1934 gaining his Intermediate Certificate.  He played football for Colonel Light Gardens and was a keen swimmer and fond of boxing of which he did a great deal.  In civilian life he worked for the Perry Engineering Company for some years as a furnace hand.  Harold enlisted in June 1941.
