Son of Mr and Mrs M SHETLAT of Goodwood. Educated at Sturt Street and Adelaide Public Schools he played cricket and football, and was a keen amateur boxer taking part in many bouts at the City Baths. Married with two children and residing at 1 Hughes Avenue, Kensington, he was a fireman for the East Torrens District when he enlisted in May 1941. Leaving Australia in September 1941 for the Middle East, he has fought right through the campaign.
