Ethel was schooled at Girton from 1921 to 32. Trained at Wakefield Hospital 1933-37 staff 1938 to 1940, private nurse 1938 to 39. Enlisted 1940 and was trained in pathology. She was posted 2/13 Australian General Hospital, Woodside Camp. She served Wayville Camp Hospital Laboratory 1942 109 AGH. In Alice Springs she was working as a pathologist, 2/11 AGM Aitape New Guinea, then Sydney, Townsville and Lae 1945, WEWAK unit. Discharged in Adelaide 1946.
She gained a Baby Welfare Certificate at Torrens House. Worked at Elder Laboratory ACH where she undertook her own research in to disorders of the blood. In 1952 went to England to undertake specialist studies for 10 months she continued working for ACH for 12 years. Ethel married Doctor Dudley Trott a widower with three teenage children.
Mrs Ethel Grace Trott nee Forham SFX11656 Lt AANS MID served in the 2/13 AGH and 109 AGH. In 1994 she was awarded a life membership of the RSL and her assocaition included service as President 1971 to 74, 93,94 as Vice President 1991-92 of the Returned Sisters Sub-branch and she was Immediate Past President 1975, Treasurer from 1950 to 51, and a committee member 1978 to 82 and from 1988 to 1990.
She was instrumental in establishing a monthly support of group consisting of Sisters' AMNA's and Physiotherapist who served during the war. She was awarded the Service Medal for her service to the Red Cross as a volunteer from 1965 to 94.
Her hobbies included painting and poetry.
