Son of Thomas Francis and Mary Florence Hannon; husband of Gwenyth Elizabeth Hannon, of Hazelwood Park, South Australia. B.D.S. (Adelaide).

Lt-Col. T.D. Hannon, 37, one of the two South Australians reported missing in the RAAF transport plane crash between Jacquinot Bay and Rabaul on Thursday, was for five years  before the war secretary of the South Australian branch of the Australian Dental Association.
Lt-CoL Harmon, the eldest son of Mrs. T. P. Harmon, of Grant avenue, Rose Park, and the Late Mr. Hannon, graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1930. He received his  commission in the militia in 1937 while practising on North terrace. Before leaving for the Middle East as a major with the 9th AGH in January, 1941 he was Acting Deputy  Assistant Director of Dental Services at Keswick. He was promoted to his present rank on his return from the Middle East in June 1942, and was appointed Assistant Deputy Director of Dental Services with the 2nd Australian Corps. He became Deputy Director of Dental Services with the 1st Army at Lae last month.
His wife is also a dentist practising in Adelaide, and there is one daughter. His younger brothers, Capt. D. F. Hanson and L-CpL J. Harmon, are both in the AIF, and there are two  sisters, Lt. M. E. Harmon, AAMWS, and Miss Claire Hannon, of Adelaide.
